Moe’s Southwest Grill Bolstering Presence in Manhattan

Three New Locations Planned for 2013 Beginning Jan. 31 with $4 Burrito Special

NEW YORK – Jan. 30, 2013 – “Welcome to Moe’s!” will soon be heard a lot more frequently on the streets of Manhattan when Moe’s Southwest Grill® opens at 367 1st Ave. in Midtown East on Thursday, Jan. 31. As a bonus, customers will be treated to a $4.00 burrito special on opening day, and kid’s meals will be free all weekend with an adult purchase.

The franchise partners, Glenn Buchholz and Frank Ferrantelli, are the first to sign a multi-unit deal in Manhattan and have plans to quickly expand the thriving brand. A second location is slated for late April in Kips Bay while a third is in the works for early June in Murray Hill. The duo, both longtime New Yorkers, parlayed their experience in other business ventures into an agreement with Moe’s – a brand they both readily admit to falling in love with as consumers before all else.

“Moe’s has a great presence in the states of New York and New Jersey and we’ve been enjoying the food and culture of Moe’s for years,” said Buchholz. “We are thrilled to bring these restaurants into the heart of the city – it was only a matter of time before Moe’s took over Manhattan.”

“Welcome to Moe’s!” is more than a greeting; it’s a way of life for the folks who customize each meal fresh-to-order right in front of the guest. All meals, including signature items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and salsa. While Moe’s is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of over 20 fresh ingredients, the menu also features kid’s, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain. The sleek, stylish new fountains are touch-screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands – including more than 70 diet, low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands offered nowhere else, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.

Ranked No. 1 in the Fast Casual Mexican Category by Entrepreneur in 2011, Atlanta-based Moe’s Southwest Grill serves fresh, made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment. Moe’s in Manhattan will be open every day from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. For more information, guests may call (646) 861-0414 or visit
