Leading Southwest Fast-Casual Brand Hosts Pay What You Want Day to Benefit Two Local High Schools
Laurel, Md. – Oct. 10, 2014 – “Welcome to Moe’s!” will soon be heard on the streets of Laurel when Moe’s Southwest Grill® opens at 14720 Baltimore Ave. Suite H101 in the new Towne Centre at Laurel on Friday, October 17.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Laurel Moe’s invites guests to ‘Pay What You Want’ on October 15 and 16, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting two local high schools. Guests can show their support for St. Vincent Palloti High School by visiting the restaurant on Wednesday, October 15 between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., or for Laurel High School on Thursday, October 16 between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.
“Opening day is a great opportunity for us to show our commitment to the community by supporting these local high schools,” said franchise partner Frank Maresca. “We are thrilled to continue bolstering Moe’s presence throughout D.C. and are eager to open our doors in Laurel so guests can enjoy our fresh, made-to-order food.”
The Laurel location is part of a 25-store deal that was inked in 2012 for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area by existing Moe’s franchise partners Brad Chasteen, Steve Taylor and Frank Maresca. The three franchise partners partnered together to create Guac N’ Roll LLC for the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area Moe’s locations. Maresca will serve as the local operating partner for the company.
“Welcome to Moe’s!” is more than a greeting; it’s a way of life for the folks who customize each meal made fresh-to-order in front of every guest. All meals, including signature menu items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and salsa. While Moe’s is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of more than 20 fresh ingredients, the menu also features options for kids, vegetarians, vegans and those with a gluten sensitivity.
Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain. The sleek, stylish new fountains are touch-screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands – including more than 70 diet or low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands offered nowhere else, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.
Ranked the No. 1 Mexican food concept by leading research group Technomic in 2013, Atlanta-based Moe’s Southwest Grill serves fresh, made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment.
