ATLANTA (August 5, 2016) –  In response to a growing consumer sentiment towards cage free eggs and the adoption of this policy by several other food service companies, FOCUS Brands is joining forces with others in the industry and announcing its commitment to sourcing ingredients that contain only cage free eggs.

While not a large user of eggs or food items with egg as an ingredient, FOCUS Brands will work with its suppliers to ensure that all of its restaurant menu items will contain only cage free eggs by 2026.

FOCUS Brands Expands in Wyoming, Announcing First Moe’s Southwest Grill and Schlotzsky’s Combo Location

In celebration, free sandwiches and burritos for a year will be given to first 100 guests

ATLANTA (May 19, 2016) – FOCUS Brands announced today its plans for their first Moe’s Southwest Grill and Schlotzsky’s combo restaurant to be located in the Hat Six Travel Center at 6985 Nugget in Evansville, Wyo. This not only marks the brands’ first combo location but the first foray into the state of Wyoming for Moe’s. The grand opening will take place on May 26 at 10:00 a.m.

Moe’s Southwest Grill®, the fast-casual restaurant best known for creating craveable burritos to order with fresh, flavorful ingredients, currently has no other locations in the state of Wyoming. This will be Schlotzsky’s®, the home of the popular The Original® oven-baked sandwich served on its famous Fresh-from-Scratch® sourdough buns, second appearance in the state after a previous location in Casper, WY closed years ago.

“Wyoming is a key growth market for both Moe’s and Schlotzsky’s and with the new combo location in Evansville, we are confident this move will prove successful in helping grow our base of Moe’s and Schlotzsky’s lovers in Wyoming,” said business advisor Tiffany Mortimer.

To celebrate the grand opening, the Evansville Moe’s and Schlotzsky’s will be offering free Moe’s burritos for a year to the first 50 guests in line, and free Schlotzsky’s sandwiches for a year to the first 100 guests in line who also purchase a 6-pack of Cinnabon. Grand opening festivities will also include a prize wheel and $5 Moe’s burritos all day on opening day.

The Moe’s and Schlotzsky’s combo location will be operated by franchisee Doris McMurry. This is her first location for both brands.

There are three things Moe’s newbies should know: the crew will cry “welcome to Moe’s” when you walk in the door (don’t be jolted – it’s normal), the most popular burrito is lovingly called the Homewrecker, and Moe’s Famous Queso is famous for a reason. Schlotzsky’s newbies should make sure to try The Original Sandwich, featuring 13 fresh, flavorful ingredients served on Schlotzsky’s legendary Fresh-from-Scratch® oven-baked sourdough buns, topped with lean smoked ham, genoa and cotto salamis, melted cheddar, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and layered with black olives, red onion, lettuce, tomato, mustard and signature dressing.

“Moe’s of the Future” Opens in Roswell, Georgia, as Testing Grounds for Brand Innovations

Moe’s Southwest Grill debuts first experimental restaurant to try out new menu concepts, store designs, operational processes and more

ROSWELL, GA.  (Sept. 24, 2015) – Welcome to Moe’s!® Moe’s Southwest Grill®, the fast-casual restaurant best known for creating craveable burritos to order with fresh, flavorful ingredients, will today open its first “Moe’s of the Future” experimental restaurant in Roswell, Georgia, the home-state where Moe’s was founded in 2000. This location will enable the brand to openly test improvements to standard restaurant design and layout, culinary offerings, customer service practices and operation procedures, without disrupting ongoing training and day-to-day business at franchise locations. Because this restaurant is not bound by the standard protocols that exist brand-wide, it will allow Moe’s to experiment with bolder concepts and implement them at a faster rate than ever before.

Moe’s of the Future will execute this testing on an ongoing basis with the ultimate goal of improving guest experience across all Moe’s locations, responding to changes in the industry and tech landscape, increasing efficiency and cost-savings, and attracting new customers to the brand. The first differences guests will experience upon entry into Moe’s of the Future on opening day include all-digital menu boards, a larger visible prep area with windows into the fresh ingredient displays designed to increase transparency of fresh food preparation and community tables with charging stations to keep consumers engaged and connected throughout their dining experience. Additionally, the space will designate a second production line solely for mobile/online orders, designed to improve efficiency and potentially double the number of transactions during peak hours without any disruptions to in-house guest service.

Additional changes consumers can expect to see down the line at Moe’s of the Future include brand new menu items and ingredients, equipment upgrades, new cutting-edge design and aesthetic elements, more innovative uses of technology and changes to the ordering and dining experience. The restaurant will be constantly evolving and continuing to implement more radical, first-of-their-kind concepts as time goes on, with a few new modifications being tested per quarter.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Names Bruce Schroder as President

ATLANTA (May 26, 2015) – FOCUS Brands® announced that Bruce Schroder has been named President of Moe’s Southwest Grill®, the fast-casual restaurant chain best known for creating delicious burritos to order with fresh, flavorful ingredients.

Since taking on the new role of Group President, with responsibility for the Restaurant Brands, Paul Damico has been leading the 15-year-old brand while searching for a leader with both the right experience and the right fit for the brand’s irreverent culture.

“Bruce is an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of experience leading companies and growing their businesses,” said FOCUS Brands Group President, Paul Damico. “He will draw on his extensive experience in the restaurant franchise business to continue the success and keep up the momentum Moe’s is experiencing and lead it to new heights.”

Bruce joins from Regus Express North America, where he served as President and grew the business with the goal of commercializing their mobile office concept with consumers. Prior to that he served as Chief Operating Officer and President of Stores for Jamba, where he led the revitalization of the domestic business. He has an impressive career, having worked for companies like HomeGain, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, AIMCO, Adina for Life, Wells Fargo and Arthur Andersen, but most notably he spent 16 years with PepsiCo, where he progressed through a wide variety of roles and assignments in finance, operations, sales, and marketing, all of which provided an excellent business foundation and enabled him to impact over $100 million in incremental contribution during his tenure with the brand.
