Moe’s Southwest Grill Opening First Location in Columbus

Popular Fast-Casual Burrito Joint has 14 Total Restaurants Planned Through 2020

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Feb. 28, 2013 – “Welcome to Moe’s!” will soon be heard on the streets of Columbus when Moe’s Southwest Grill® opens at 1305 West Lane Ave. near the campus of The Ohio State University on Thursday, March 7. This is the first of 14 Moe’s restaurants that are planned in the Columbus market over the next eight years.

Franchise partner Clif Bullard is the first to sign a multi-unit deal in Columbus and has plans to quickly expand the thriving brand. The second location is slated to begin construction in April at Avery Square in Dublin. Bullard, who currently owns 20 Moe’s restaurants throughout North and South Carolina, is one of the restaurant chain’s largest franchise partners. He has been a restaurant franchisee since 1980 and in the Moe’s system since 2008, and his group owns a total of 48 restaurants across a variety of brands.

“Moe’s has a growing presence in the state of Ohio, and it’s time Columbus residents got a chance to try the delicious food and experience the fun atmosphere of our restaurants,” said Bullard. “We are thrilled to begin our expansion in Columbus and the surrounding communities.”

“Welcome to Moe’s!” is more than a greeting; it’s a way of life for the folks who customize each meal fresh-to-order right in front of the guest. All meals, including signature items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and salsa. While Moe’s is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of over 20 fresh ingredients, the menu also features kid’s, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain. The sleek, stylish new fountains are touch-screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands – including more than 70 diet, low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands offered nowhere else, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.

Ranked No. 1 in the Fast Casual Mexican Category by Entrepreneur in 2011, Atlanta-based Moe’s Southwest Grill serves fresh, made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment. Moe’s in Columbus will be open Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. For more information, guests may call (614) 429-3612 or visit www.moes.com.
