– Moe’s launches dance contest on –

ATLANTA, GA (May 31, 2011) In some circles the hot, flavorful, melted white cheese sauce at Moe’s Southwest Grill is so adored that it makes people do their happy dance. Knowing this means something different for everyone, the folks at Moe’s are giving guests the opportunity to enter their very own queso-inspired dance moves in the Dance Your Queso Off contest.

To enter, create a dance video no longer than 30 seconds and upload it to any time before July 24, 2011. Moe’s panel of judges will consider originality, video quality, dance moves and the dance off ranking to determine who will win the $10,000 grand prize.

Visit to watch the video entries and pick your favorites. Videos will face off against each other and fans will vote for the best, funniest and/or most entertaining dance video.

Those who participated in the I Love Queso video contest last year may recognize the song playing on the site as the original hit by last year’s contest winner, Christiano Covino.

“We received such great feedback and participation in last year’s I Love Queso video contest, that this year we decided to turn it up a notch by adding dance moves to the mix and a larger cash prize,” says Joel Bulger, vice president of marketing for Moe’s Southwest Grill. “For years our guests have loved expressing to us how much they love Moe’s Queso. This summer, we’re excited to give them this fun and entertaining platform to do just that.”

All of this excitement surrounding Queso will lead up to Moe’s second annual Free Queso Day on Wednesday, July 20. Participating locations nationwide will give one free 6 ounce cup of Moe’s famous Queso to every guest, all day. For more information, visit

  1. what are the moving meter bars under some dance videos?
Why did I not receive an email with a link to my dance video as the website stated I would?

    • Adrasteia – the contest officially ended on July 24. Did you submit your video before then? If not, that may be why you did not receive a submission confirmation and link to your video. If you did submit your video before July 24, let me know and I’ll gladly look into the issue. The meter bars under the videos are relative to the video’s popularity! Plus, we think they look pretty cool. 🙂 Hope that helps!

  2. When does the voting portion of the contest end?

    • Ben – the contest voting and submissions happened simultaneously. The contest officially ended at midnight on Sunday, July 24. Now our panel of judges is working to select a winner!

  3. I believe you picked the best video for the contest, but I need your help in trying to understand something. Your Facebook announcement lauds the 154,252 site visits, 636,774 video views, the 2,947 facebook shares, and the 104,68 votes; however, the collection of video clips does not have any of the most popular videos. So why make such a fuss over all the site activity when you totally discount the popular vote?

    • John, the highlight reel showcases the variety of videos that were submitted, not necessary the top contenders, although I can see how that could be confusing. Popular vote was certainly considered by the panel of judges who picked the winner. I can tell you it wasn’t an easy process when there were so many awesome videos! I hope that helps.
