Moe’s Celebrates 12 Years with $2 Burritos on April 25

Charlotte, N.C. - April 9, 2013 -  On April 25 Moe’s Southwest Grill located in Dilworth on East Blvd will celebrate their 12 year anniversary and thank the community with $2 burritos all day. The Chamber of Commerce will kick off the day with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m.

Channel 96.1 radio personality Yankee Pete will be on site from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can also spin the Moe’s prize wheel for a chance to win Moe’s coupons, prizes and a chance to win free burritos for a year.

“The East Blvd. location was the first Moe’s Southwest Grill in Charlotte and the the fifth nationwide. We have been proud maintain the high level of quality and fun environment our guests’ have come to expect from Moe’s,” said franchisee, Andy Rooney. “We owe the community for supporting us and want to say thank you with $2 burritos for everyone on April 25.”

The store has also undergone renovations to maximize their famous Moe’s service while up-fitting the dining room and parking lot.

Guests can experience the new touch-screen operated Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain- complete with separate ice and water dispensers. Coca-Cola Freestyle® enables consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands- including more than 60 diet, low-calorie and caffeine-free beverages, as well as many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.

10 Percent of Entire Day’s Proceeds Going to Local Food Banks on Thursday, Nov. 15

Atlanta – Nov. 13, 2012 – With a strong footprint in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, Moe’s Southwest Grill® is giving back by aiding Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Many communities that Moe’s serves were hit hard by the storm, and numerous locations have banded together in order to make as much impact as possible. On Thursday, Nov. 15, more than 30 Moe’s restaurants in the region will be donating 10 percent of the entire day’s proceeds to local food banks.

“Moe’s is not an organization that sits back and watches others take care of things,” said Moe’s Field Marketing Manager Joe Salome, who is organizing the event. “We would be nowhere without our loyal customers and supportive local communities, so it is our duty to help them get through this rough time.”

Moe’s restaurants have already donated more than 4,000 burritos and tacos to those in need since the storm made landfall in late October. Participating locations for the fundraiser on Nov. 15 include:

  • Connecticut: Glastonbury, Hartford, Milford, New Haven, Waterford
  • New Jersey: Branchburg, Clifton, Depford, East Windsor, Edgewater, Hamilton, Mahwah, Marlboro, Mays Landing, Millville, North Brunswick,  Northvale, Paramus, Parsippany, Pompton Plains, Rutgers, Sicklerville, Sommerset
  • New York: Long Island (East Meadow, Garden City, Greenvale, Oceanside, Rocky Point, Smithtown, Woodbury), Staten Island
  • Pennsylvania: Bethlehem, Philadelphia (Chestnut Street and Suburban Train Station), Stroudsburg, Warrington, Wyomissing

The local food banks that will benefit include Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Island Harvest (Long Island), Food Bank of Delaware, and City Harvest (New York and Staten Island). With this initiative, Moe’s is estimating that between $6-7,000 will be donated in one day to help hungry families displaced by the hurricane or without power. Tallahassee, FL (October 23, 2012) – “Welcome to Moe’s!” has been heard by the people of Tallahassee for ten years, and on Oct 23., the restaurant franchise featuring fresh southwest fare is showing their appreciation for their long-time, loyal customers by offering $3 burritos, with free chips and salsa as always, at all three Moe’s Southwest Grill Tallahassee locations.

Rob Atkisson, franchise owner of the three Moe’s locations, has strong ties to Tallahassee, having previously attended Florida State University.

Popular fast-casual burrito joint opens August 16, first of 25 new locations in Midwest

St. Joseph, Mich.  (August 16, 2012) – “Welcome to Moe’s®!” will soon be heard throughout St. Joseph when Moe’s Southwest Grill® opens at 3260 Niles Road on Thursday, August 16. The new restaurant marks the first of 25 new locations that local restaurateur Joyce Lunsford, Owner of Trigo Hospitality, will open throughout the Midwest. Moe’s Southwest Grill serves fresh made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid back environment.

When you walk by St. Joseph’s newest burrito joint, the first thing you’ll hear is a familiar “Welcome to Moe’s!” It’s more than a greeting; it’s a way of life for the folks who customize each meal fresh to order, right in front of the guest.

All meals, including signature items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and unlimited salsa from Moe’s fresh salsa bar. While Moe’s Southwest Grill is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of over 20 fresh ingredients, the menu also features kid’s, vegetarian, and low-calorie options. At the same time, the menu boasts a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan offerings many of which feature organic tofu. Moe’s also offers all natural cage-free chicken, grain-fed steroid-free pulled pork, both with no hormones added, and 100% grass-fed steak.

After eating at a Moe’s in Grand Rapids, Lunsford and her team at Trigo Hospitality enjoyed the food so much, they wanted to the first to bring Moe’s to St. Joe. In January 2012, Lunsford signed an agreement that will bring 25 new restaurants – and hundreds of jobs – to Michigan, Indiana and Ohio by 2020. She will operate the restaurants with business partner and local resident Greg Molter.

As part of the development agreement, new Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurants will also open throughout Michigan in Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Holland, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Saginaw and Big Rapids.

Trigo Hospitality currently operates 32 Pizza Hut® locations in Southwest Michigan and five Sonic® Drive-In restaurants. Her franchise group recently sold the 22 Panera Bread® restaurants they operated in Michigan and Ohio.

Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain at the new Moe’s in St. Joseph. The sleek, stylish new fountains are touch screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 125 regular and low-calorie beverage brands –including more than 70 diet, low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80+ unique brands offered nowhere else, as well as many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.
