- All Washington, DC area locations are hosting a burrito giveaway and fundraiser on April 29 -
WASHINGTON, DC (April 25, 2011) – Moe’s Southwest Grill helps the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) find a cure through the power of free burritos. On Friday, April 29 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., guests are invited to any Washington, DC-area Moe’s to enjoy any burrito for free with the purchase of a drink. All Moe’s asks in return is that guests consider making a donation to JDRF while they’re there.
“This is our fifth year working with JDRF to assist with fundraising efforts,” explainsFrank Maresca, local Moe’s owner and operator. “We always have a great turn out and a lot of fun thanks to our generous and supportive community. Last year we raised $20,000 on Free Burrito Day for JDRF, and this year we hope to significantly exceed that contribution.”
The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.4 billion to diabetes research.
“We work everyday to find a cure for type-1 diabetes and great partners like Moe’s Southwest Grill help us get a step closer to reaching our goal,” explains Valerie Balser, JDRF Corporate Development Coordinator.
